SOWETO & APARTHEID MUSEUM TOUR
The discovery of Gold in 1886 brought thousands of people from around the world to Soweto seeking work and their fortunes. Most people were housed near the Gold mines in compounds.
On June 16,1976, high school students in Soweto began an uprising against their inferior education. Many lost their lives in this protest against the apartheid school system. Today, June 16 is commemorated as Youth Day, in honour of the young people who lost their lives in this struggle.

SOWETO CULTURAL TOUR
